Kurashiki, Okayama, Japan｜Sawaraya

Extraordinary service and food. The manager and staff were friendly and attentive from the minute we stepped in the restaurant. We cannot speak Japanese but still received best service. The staff kindly introduced dish and sake selection. We tried delicious local sake and food. I was also amazed by the dinnerware and glassware. This place is one of the reasons why Kurashiki is now my favourite place to visit in Japan. I wish to come back in near future.

Fantastic dinner/drinks spot with a very good sake selection. The local fish dishes are really good. The dinner menu isn't in english, so do refer to photos from the other reviews to order. I recommend the straw-smoked fish, the mackeral sashimi and the fried fish with seaweed.

If you are staying in Kurashiki for a night, I highly recommend this place for a meal. Menu was fresh, inspiring and simply tasty.
