More Comments at Google MapMy wife is originally from Japan, and I have visited many times. My wife said that it is one of the best Japanese meals she has ever had; it was certainly my best. And in Sydney, it would have cost 2 or 3 times as much. Fresh quality produce prepared by the Master with a desire to want people to be happy. No dish we had was bad, they were just different levels of superb. Ending with the sashimi and the Master's 5 Delicacies. Those 2 are very highly recommended along with the cucumber salad. The daily obanzai were also lovely. Master's grasp of English is similar to my grasp of Japanese - not great. For visitors with poor Japanese I would recommend going on a Friday when it is less busy. Everyone else, make sure you book as I'm sure Seribe will only get busier. Master, thank you. (Although we know you won't read this. 😊)
We had the most amazing time at this beautiful local spot. The owner does it all himself! Even though there was a bit of a language barrier (due to us not speaking any Japanese), we made the best connection with Sudo Kazutaka. He looked after us with such care and love, everything we ate and drank was exquisite. He even gave us a taste of his blueberries that he grows himself! If you find yourself in Kurashiki Bikan historical quarter please visit him. Thank you friend! We will hopefully be back soon.
Wonderful experience dining here. The owner was a one man show, doing everything from recommending and pouring drinks, preparing dishes and serving customers. Very reasonable prices. I asked for an omakase letting him recommend a menu with a budget per person and he showed us some pre-prepared obanzai, and made some tempura for us as well. One of the patrons offered us some of his dish, so I reciprocated by buying him a beer. Memorable night and I hope to return in the future.
