Okayama, Japan｜Hamayuu

Amazing seafood dinner, very authentic experience. Waitress very patient with our total lack of Japanese, ordered Sashimi, fried fish, pickles and scallops. All delicious. Sashimi just incredible, melt in your mouth. We didn’t get the sake, but all the locals were recommending the selection menu on offer, clearly the reason many go there. An experience!

A very local seafood restaurant. Food is good and fresh but not expensive at all. A young lady server was very nice tried really hard to communicate with us in English. Very appreciated her effort and her personal after meal desserts. どうもありがとう thank you so much if you can see this, we really enjoyed it!

A few days later and I’m still reflecting on what a great experience this was. Went here for dinner after finding it on google. No wait even though it was fairly busy for dinner, took a seat at the seafood bar. This might not have been the easiest place to navigate for someone that doesn’t speak much Japanese, but the staff could not have been friendlier, they made me feel extremely welcome the entire time. I asked for what they recommended and was treated to an incredibly fresh raw fish assortment and some fantastic grouper. I’d come to Okayama again just to come back!
