Delicious Hokkaido-style soup curry and classic roux-based curry was the highlight of our day trip to Bitchu-Takahashi! Yoshidaya’s curry has deep, rich and complex flavors that are no comparison to standard fare at ubiquitous curry shops elsewhere. Served with pride by a delightful young couple, enjoy a wonderful meal at Yoshidaya whenever you visit this quaint town!
The bone-in chicken and vegetable soup curry was said to be the most popular, so I ordered it. The rice in the photo is average size. By chance, I lined up at the store's opening time, so I went in, but as the note in the store said, the turnover rate seemed to be high, so I was lucky. To be honest, it was extremely delicious. I was impressed. The vegetables were perfectly cooked, and even though the chicken was bone-in, it was so soft that you could eat it with a spoon. The soup curry was also irresistibly delicious, with a deep aroma, flavor, and spiciness. I didn't know what white jellyfish was at first, but I thought it went well with the soup, had an interesting texture, and was a nice accent. I ate the medium-spicy 2-spicy (?) and it was just the right level of spiciness for me, who likes slightly spicy foods. If I have a chance, I would definitely like to go there again.
