Okayama, Japan｜不純喫茶ニューエレガント&アララカリー

The curry is so flavorful, with great atmosphere and music choice. The owner is also nice and friendly. He recommended me a few good spots in Okayama to visit.

Alara is a 7-seat curry place a five-minute walk from Okayama Station. The curry is fantastic: just the right amount of heat, excellent consistency (not too thick), and with a really unusual set of spices that are hard to explain but absolutely delicious. The accompanying vegetables were a real standout, so good that my group asked for seconds. An accompanying friend who is something of a curry gourmet described it as, "fragrant, bold, a little sweet, and filled with exciting small touches of mysterious vegetables." There is no visible English menu, but the chef was friendly and happy to make recommendations. Well worth a visit

Visited after 10pm on weekdays. I was on a business trip and it was late, but I had been curious about it so I decided to visit. When you push through the narrow entrance, what's inside is unexpected? Open. Since it was late on a weekday, it was empty. At the counter, you can enjoy fried vegetables, fried onion toppings, and Red Eye for drinks. The curry had the impression that the spices were used well, but it was easy to eat without being addictive. Talking about curry with the staff, and sometimes about information on downtown Okayama. We had a pleasant exchange, and although it was late, it was a satisfying evening. Next time, I would like to relax with a la carte meal and some drinks. I would like to visit you again.
