I'm still dreaming about this place! This small restaurant is dishing out some unique onigiris filled with toppings that might test your taste buds. This place was recorby Michelin and it is def worth the trip outside of Tokyo city limits! The wait time varies depending on how busy but I would recommend going here on the earlier side! They offer set menus of 2-3 onigiris and miso soup. You can order additional a la carte items and if you do order items above the designated price range they charge the difference even for the sets. The ambiance inside is quaint and not a place you want to be speaking loudly. Everyone's mission there is to eat and get out. I opted for the salmon and the shrimp onigiri and I would HIGHLY reclrthe shrimp one over and over again!!

Fell in love with the food here on my first visit. Found this place on TikTok, both for it being a Michelin star restaurant and the oldest onigiri store. Was here on a weekday, at about 15 mins after opening (overestimated the distance from Sensō-ji temple), queued for about 1.5h. A rather small shop, but really enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. Ordered a set consisting of 2 onigiris: 1 with salmon roe and another with squid innards (out of curiosity) Thoroughly enjoyed the onigiris which were freshly made and hot. (Though the squid innards one was really salty 🤣) The salmon roe onigiri was oozing with creaminess and the delectable taste of the sea, accompanied by the crispiness of the seaweed. The rice in the onigiri was also well seasoned and cooked, with a smooth taste of vinegar. 🤤 The miso soup was perfectly seasoned and balanced, a refreshing accompaniment to end the meal. Would definitely recommend coming down to this place, though I would recommend coming early as there was a sign placed outside shortly after I was seated, informing those queueing that they were sold out for the day.

Made a reservation as soon as they opened shop and was able to get a spot after an hour. Waiting wasn't so bad because I just spent my time exploring the temple and random alleys nearby. Atmosphere was great and their hospitality was so welcoming. I was awkward and unsure of how to make a reservation but they were quick to help me. Food was really tasty. Can't go wrong with onigiri and I asked the chef for his recommendation - soy shrimp. It was sweet, salty and well seasoned.
