Nikko, Tochigi, Japan｜Kariman Kourindō

Small dessert place you will encounter walking back into town from Futarasan Shrine, head here instead of taking the bus back!! The dorayaki is nice but definitely get the Nikko kariman, eating it freshly fried is so satisfying!

Probably the best sweet I have eaten in Japan and believe me I have a very large sample size! This is quite an unusual sweet and has a perfectly crispy exterior, delicious anko and a sweet gooey centre. Do yourself a favour and get one each, don't share! Staff are very kind and friendly, lovely little spot to take a rest.

Delicious!!!! This was the most delicious mochi I ever had. Subtle dusting of nutty powder, and syrup that was not too sweet. Highly recommend.
