More Comments at Google MapThis is a small rice ball shop just a short walk from JR Fujisawa Station and past the city hall. As the name “Okinawa Onigiri” suggests, this is a restaurant that serves pork (luncheon meat) and tamagoyaki rice balls. The shop mainly has a kitchen and a checkout counter, but there are also counter seats and small table seats, so you can enjoy eating and drinking inside the store! This time, I visited after 13:00, which was slightly past lunch time on weekdays. When I entered the store, I was greeted by a very pleasant staff! Unfortunately, when I saw the menu, the lunch set was sold out, but from the regular single item menu, I ordered a rice ball topped with "grandmother's oil miso" and a rice ball topped with "spicy taco rice". The rice balls that were served shortly after were made after the order was placed, and I was so happy that they were freshly made. Needless to say, the taste is delicious, and the volume is perfect. I especially liked the freshly made warm rice balls, the large pork and omelet, and the rice balls with rustic oil miso and perilla! I couldn't order this time because I was in the middle of work, but besides rice balls, there was also a snack menu such as single item Rafute and a drink menu such as Orion beer and Awamori! There was also Okinawa's standard snack "Sata Andagi"! Next time, I would like to visit you slowly on a holiday. Thank you for the meal! !
When you think of Okinawan onigiri, you think of them as sandwiches with pork in between. I wasn't very familiar with it, but I'm glad I was able to eat at a place like this. The basic dish contains egg rolls and pork, and you can add toppings of your choice. Although it looks big, the amount of rice is said to be the same as a convenience store rice ball. Not only the pork and toppings, but especially the fried eggs are delicious! It goes very well with rice and seaweed. I was pretty full with 2 pieces. The Rafute toppings were luxurious with pork and Rafute. It's such a waste, so next time I'll have side dish Rafute. Onigiri Surprisingly, there are side dishes and snacks. This master is a truly Okinawan person, and talking to him makes you feel like you're actually in Okinawa.
Okinawa rice balls have been on my mind for a while! I happened to have some business nearby so I stopped by. When you open the wooden-framed glass door, which has a somewhat nostalgic feel to it, you will hear relaxing Okinawan music playing. There is a counter in front and a menu board. It's basically a pork and egg rice ball, and then you add toppings to it. I bought one basic, one each of Grandma's oil miso topping and Rafute topping. The rice balls are made after you order, so they're toasty warm! However, it takes a little time, so it is not recommended if you are in a hurry. When I ate it after returning home, I found that the salty pork and gentle egg were warm and delicious. Grandma's oil miso was made by combining minced pork (?) with miso, and although it didn't have a strong salty taste, it was filling. Rafute is soft and easy to eat, but it's not too runny, so you can eat it wholeheartedly as an onigiri filling. Each one is a decent size, so if you're a small eater, you'll be satisfied with just the rice balls and miso soup! I would like to use it again when I go nearby.
