More Comments at Google MapWhat a wonderful place! Just perfect to spend a nice, relaxed evening. I tried a couple varieties of tofu and plum wine, which were fabulous; especially the 湯葉 (yuba). I heard the shop is famous for sake and とろろご飯 as well, which I'll try the next time.
It had a very calm atmosphere, which made it hard to believe that the restaurant was located down an alley from downtown Kusatsu. The interior of the store, which is a renovated old folk house, was very calming and the garden was well maintained. I had a course of Japanese yam hotpot. It was my first experience, but when I mixed the Japanese yam with the ingredients in the hot pot like sukiyaki eggs, the freshness of the ingredients stood out even more, and I ended up eating way too much because of how delicious it was. In addition, the sake menu was extensive and included rare brands, so it was a great banquet that made you forget the time.
It was a unique dish, and the wild yam soup was also very good!! It was very delicious to eat eggs on millet rice. The room is slightly dark and retro.
