Ise, Mie, Japan｜Mokuton

Reading some of the negative reviews left me scratching my head. I have nothing but positive things to say about this place. Some people complain about the long wait when the place is crowded but isn’t that natural? Others complain about the food being too oily but we are talking about fried pork cutlets. My experience was excellent - from the service to the food. The staff was welcoming despite the language barrier and served us with big smiley faces that seem so genuine. As for the food, the tonkotsu is generous in portion and the free flow of cabbage helps offset the grease of deep fried food. Just ot be clear, it had been allowed to sit for a while so it wasn’t dripping oil. It was crispy at every bite :)

Succulent, juicy and soft pork cutlets. The leaner cuts used in the Tonkatsu is just as good as a healthier alternative. Had not tasted anything as good in Singapore!

Stopped over for a quick lunch. The food was very tasty and the decor was beautifully traditional. Definitely recommended
