Lovely small restaurant, hidden in a small alley. The owner cooks everything, so it might take sometime to get the food, but it well deserves the wait. The place is small, so you might want to make a reservation by phone. At lunch time they have lunch menu for 1100-1400 yen. I loved the yuba (tofu skin) and the unagi (eel).

Delicious variety of Okinawan and Kyoto comfort food. Very unassuming. Just shout out the order when you’re ready. Menu is on little wooden boards on the wall - in Japanese only. Plan to just chill and nibble. Don’t go if you’re in a rush. The ojiichan makes everything himself. I recommend the hire-zake, variety of oden, and the somen-chanpuru.

Not only was the food absolutely amazing, but the hosts were incredibly welcoming, warm and understanding, despite my terrible level of Japanese. I would absolutely recommend this place. Incredibly well deserved 5 stars and I would give it a 6th if it were possible. Thank you for the lovely evening.
