Ueda, Nagano, Japan｜信濃

I parked my friend's car at the coin park at the castle entrance of Ueda Station and looked at the clock to see that it was 4:00 pm. I was looking for a place to go for a drink, but it was a delicate time and most of the places were still preparing. As I was walking to the Golden Tavern, which I was told was the only one open, I suddenly became interested in the building.I went down to the basement of the stairs, and there was a light on at the very back, so I stepped through the curtain and said, ``It's just the two of us.'' But, are you okay?'' When I asked, the kind hostess said, ``It's fine. Please take the seat of your choice.'' ? We were guided by a madam who seemed to be the same person, and we were able to start the drinking party. I wasn't really hungry, so I ordered something light: draft beer, edamame beans, and grated nameko mushrooms. It's a super dry barrel shop, so the draft beer is good. The edamame is also piping hot and delicious. After things had calmed down a bit, I ordered the famous sake ``Kirei'' in Ueda and horse meat. I had the turtle age at room temperature, and it had a sweet, plump flavor that went well with the horse meat. The horse meat had a beautiful color and seemed extremely fresh, but it had a chewy flavor. Customer service and service speed at this mother-son shop are excellent, making us a repeat customer! My friend in Ueda also visited this store for the first time, so it's a store I definitely want to visit next time. Thank you for the meal.

This is a cozy, local-style pub run by a family run by the proprietress, who always has a bright smile, and her son's brothers. Whenever I go to Ueda, I always go here. The gentle seasoning is very delicious. I always order the horse sashimi and butterbur miso sushi. There are many types of sake. There used to be iced head, but the only regret is that it is no longer on the menu due to rising prices.

A reasonably priced izakaya run by parents and children with lovely smiles. Fortunately, you can drink alcohol from noon. The food is delicious and the local sake is abundant.
