First time trying Kamameshi and loved it! Taste so homey! You get to try 3 ways to eat it which is by its own, with sauce and lastly as ochazuke (with soup). Will definitely come back again. They only accept cash so get ready to have some on hand for it. Also the queue can be pretty long during lunch time.

I entered the store to eat Shirasui Ikura Don. Comparing the menu, it's about 300 to 500 yen more expensive than other stores, but what's different from other stores is that it's kamameshi rather than regular rice. The reason for its high rating is that it has a rich variety of condiments and allows you to enjoy a variety of flavors by changing the ingredients. Dashi, mitsuba, wasabi, soy sauce, dashi stock, shredded seaweed. I love that you can finish it off with Ochazuke. As a man, the amount of rice was a bit small for me, but I ended up eating relatively slowly. Because I went on a weekday, it wasn't crowded and I was able to eat slowly. Customer service was mediocre.

A kamameshi restaurant where you can enjoy sea urchin, salmon roe, and whitebait with rice. There are plenty of toppings, and the second half can be enjoyed as ochazuke. If you come to Kamakura, this is the place.
