More Comments at Google MapI hadn't visited before because I felt it was a little intimidating because it's a little set back from the street, but I wanted to eat udon at another place the day before, but the order stop was right in front of me. I couldn't order it because the time had come, so I really wanted to eat udon, so I took the plunge and asked for it. It's a rather narrow store, but the seats are allocated with plenty of room, so there aren't many seats. Each seat was prepared with disposable chopsticks and a sheet of paper, and the interior of the store was decorated with small items, creating a space where time could flow slowly and peacefully. The design of the menu and the customer service from the staff were not cluttered, but they had a life-sized feel to them, which was just the right amount of comfort. I had chilled tanuki udon, but it's thin udon, and it looks like cold wheat somewhere. If you want thick noodles, it costs an extra 180 yen, so this time I had thin noodles, but next time I might try thick noodles. There are also a wide variety of other menu items, so if you go there about 10 times, you'll be able to enjoy a variety of udon and soba without getting bored with the menu. The taste is quite good, and I think it was worth the price. While chain udon restaurants dominate, the atmosphere of a local restaurant like this is good. I would like to visit again when I go to Nakayama for business.
I was able to eat delicious soba for the first time in a while♪ It was impressive to see the 2019 rugby autograph jersey displayed inside the store (lol)
We visited Mr. Sahota, who has lived in Nakayama for a long time but had never been here before. I thought the atmosphere would be difficult to get into, but the customer service was friendly. I ordered seasonal wild vegetable grated soba and a small bowl of homemade chashu pork. The sauce and seasonings were minimal, so I was able to enjoy the taste of the ingredients without being overshadowed by saltiness. The homemade char siu feels like it's homemade, but I think it's nice and thick. I've read some reviews that they serve Chinese noodles on Wednesdays and Saturdays, so I'd like to try the Chinese noodles and chashu noodles as well.
