Nice izakaya with upstairs matami seating. Great choice of food and drink. If you’re new to Japan definitely try the horse sashimi! I was skeptic last but it’s so good!

Best horsemeat sashimi I've ever eaten. I added it because it was too delicious! All the dishes were delicious. Matsumoto has many delicious restaurants, but I think you can't miss this one. However, since it is a shop where smoking is allowed, there is no need to worry about the surroundings. It's a waste of delicious food. Thank you staff for taking care of me.

I went to this restaurant on my second night in Matsumoto. It opens at 5pm, so I arrived after 5pm, but there were already customers in front of me. There is only a counter on the first floor, and the tatami room is on the second floor. Since there were two of us, we sat at the counter. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is calm and the kitchen is very clean. The staff at the restaurant are courteous and your expectations are high even before you eat the food. I ordered assorted horse sashimi, dashimaki omelet, etc., and all of them were delicious, but the dashimaki omelet was especially exquisite! I'm happy just having a fluffy and delicious egg roll made with dashi, but it's freshly made, piping hot, and big! It was carefully made using a square frying pan for tamagoyaki, and you could see it from your seat, making it a must-have for anyone who loves dashi-rolled eggs. Also, the grilled rice balls that my wife ordered to finish the meal were amazing. I chose spicy miso from soy sauce, sweet miso, and spicy miso, and the spicy miso was miso with green chili peppers. I had a small portion, and the blue tang miso went well with the rice and it was delicious. I should have asked too...lol Lastly, I asked for fried ginnan. This was also carefully prepared, the presentation was colorful, and I was able to enjoy the drink deliciously until the end. If you ever come to Matsumoto again, this is a restaurant you'll definitely want to visit again. It was a filling meal!
