Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan｜私房餃子なかむら

As the signature menu, the gyoza and mapo tofu were extremely delicious. The two types of gyoza, white and black, were about twice the size of normal ones and were very filling. The skin is not that thick and the filling is crunchy. When you bite into it, the meat juices overflow so much that you think it's a xiaolongbao. Mapo tofu is served in a simmering state, and is just the right amount of spicy at first, followed by a numbing sensation that becomes addictive. Both the gyoza and mapo tofu had great flavor and were by far the most delicious I've ever had. Dandan noodles have a mild taste when you eat them, and the spiciness comes later. It had a richness that rivaled the thick noodles, and the slightly coarse nut flavor was good. The almond tofu was also very delicious and the portion was quite large. Everything is of a high standard, and I think it's probably delicious no matter what you eat. This is definitely a hidden gem in Yokohama. Next time I will try a different menu.

First visit in June 2023. I had something to do at the optician shop across the street, and I happened to stop by during lunch time. I received mapo tofu and two gyoza for the first time. It comes with rice, soup, a small side dish, and pickles for a whopping 990 yen (tax included). And I was even more surprised at how delicious everything was! After putting on the chopsticks, I hurriedly took a photo. The gyoza is the most delicious in my memory. Same goes for mapo tofu and soup. It has a strong flavor. I was confused for a moment because I entered the restaurant with the image of a Chinese restaurant in Katakura Town. Next time I would like to try my favorite noodles. I was left with a good impression of the cleanliness of the store and the promptness of the staff. This is definitely a recommended store.

On my first visit, I had the Sichuan Mapo Tofu set meal. The owner trained at Chongqing Hotel, so it's extremely delicious. There aren't many Chinese restaurants in town that serve mapo tofu of such high quality. Next time, I would definitely like to try the shrimp chili at night.
