The best takoyaki in Tokyo. It is a hidden gem and I recommend it to anyone staying near Haneda. The original octopus takoyaki are delicious, and they even have vegetarian options to choose from. A highlight were the cheese and mochi filled takoyaki, very delicious and chewy. The best thing about the place: they have a tiny Pomeranian that greets customers in front of the store! I learned that the shop's name, "Takoyaki Kutaro" is named after him, since his name is Kutaro. The shopkeeper is very friendly and was patient enough to speak easy Japanese with me. Especially if you are vegetarian or can’t eat octopus, this place is a rare chance to try Japanese takoyaki. The price of 500 Yen for 8 pieces is very affordable.

This is the only place where I could find a vegetarian option, and on my last day in Japan I could eat takoyaki. The food is delicious and the lady is extremely nice. She has a map with stickers with the whereabouts of her clients. She seemed genuinely happy to know I was Italian. Highly recommended. She gave me a very happy memory on my last day.

The store is hidden at a small street in this quiet neighbourhood. Just 5 mins walk from Anamori station. The lady selling takoyaki was extremely friendly. We told the lady that we want to eat on the spot and she put out a small portable table and serve us some hot green tea. The yummy takoyaki is freshly made! (Update) I forgot and left my wallet and other stuffs in a shopping bag in the store front. When I rushed back I saw her holding the bag waiting at the street for me. She told me she almost wanted to chase me and give me back my stuff. What an honest lady. My experience in Japan has been wonderful so far because of people like this kind and friendly lady.
