Kumagaya, Saitama, Japan｜Matilda

This place is amazing, the food is great, and the service is so fast! The nomihodai here is really fast. They actually watched our drinks, and everytime we were low they came to us and asked what we wanted for our next drinks. Drink order to delivery is literally about 30 seconds. If you're reading this far, then it's time for what really impressed me. Our party is pretty diverse, and I think the owner noticed some of us weren't eating the pork, and through no request of our own, he came to our table and asked us about our meat preferences, and said he was worried about religious restrictions. Of course none of us had any restrictions, but the very fact that he thought to ask really impressed me. Most restaurants don't care, what they serve is what you get, but he was willing to accommodate anyone. I felt very welcomed. I really love this place please come here! Also, the waiters here were really funny, when I said my Japanese wasn't so good, he said "me too" we all laughed. He was really welcoming. The lady who helped us also always added こいめで with a smile. She was so nice!! And, they were really cute :)

Great atmosphere. Friendly staff some of whom speak fluent English. They have an English menu. They're chips (french fries) are delicious! Generous helping of wine if you order a glass. Only a few tables, but counter space too. They also have a private room with a half door entrance! More like a pub than an izakaya. Reasonably priced. Very popular spot.

Best. Pizza. In. Kumagaya. End of story. Fantastic restaurant, fantastic atmosphere, fantastic staff...10 stars!
