Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan｜華盛飯店

This is without a doubt my favorite local restaurant here in Tsurumi. Super inexpensive, fantastic food and a really great atmosphere! Smoking is allowed and it does get noisy compared to most Japanese places, but far less so than many American restaurants. Everything... absolutely EVERYTHING we have ordered has been far beyond expectations, and we have ordered different things every time. Owners are very friendly to foreigners but don’t speak any English. The menu has photos of everything, and everything served looks just like the photos unlike a number of other places we have been. As we were trying out as much different things as possible, the only thing we ordered more than once was the hot tea. I would come here just for that!

No matter what dish I ordered, it was full of volume and personally, it was very delicious. I've been there quite often, and no matter what time I go, I'm always satisfied! Even though it's a Chinese restaurant, the omelet rice tasted strangely similar to what I would eat at home, but I think the most recommended dish at this restaurant is the shumai. Not only are each one large, but they are also very juicy, and I think the price of 500 yen for five is quite a bargain. The hiyashi chuka wasn't very cold, but the sauce was not sour and sour as is often the case with hiyashi chuka, but was mellow and very delicious. However, as others have written, the flavor is strong, and smoking is allowed inside the restaurant, so I don't think I can recommend it to people who don't like that kind of thing. However, if you don't mind those two things, I think you'll really like it, so I recommend you to try it out at least once!
