Okazaki, Aichi, Japan｜米又商店

I’ve now been to Écumer a number of times for lunch. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in Okazaki. The photos here include: Venison with root vegetables and violet mustard; sea bream; and roast Aichi hime buta brand pork cooked with lavender and served with purple mashed potatoes (from a local farmer). Delicious. Very delicious. The first time I visited, in April, I ordered the daily fish special, which I really enjoyed. The second time (July 2020), when I went they were already sold out of everything except their keema curry. And I arrived shortly after noon! The keema was home made and not sweet, with plenty of herbs and spices (especially cilantro and sansho). It seemed a little pricy for the amount served.

The taste is extremely great, and prices are also reasonable ‼️ The owner family members are friendly!

I used it for lunch. To put it simply, it's the best in both cost performance and taste. I can't say that the store's appearance and interior are beautiful, but in other words, it's a good old-fashioned Chinese restaurant that gives you a sense of the times. Only counter seats and 10 seats? That's about it. It can be difficult to go with small children. I've only eaten chive pork bowl, but it was delicious. Next time I would like to try fried rice or ramen.
