More Comments at Google MapA nice izakaya on the 5F of a building. Hard to find but the food and atmosphere is great and the workers seemed happy to be there. A spot that mostly locals who know about it would go to. The workers don't speak English much but Google translate of the menu and basic phrases can help. We found this by walking around at night and the staff attracting customers outside showing us the menu and guiding us up an elevator. It felt sketchy but once inside it really feels relaxing and comfortable. We were given a small plate of fish as an appetizer and hot towels. They then showed us a black board with today's recommendations and the top 3 selling items as well as a menu. The dinner we ordered was a kaiseki salad, seared mackerel, Chicken Karaage and an egg roll. They were all delicious and the tableside searing was fun. It wasn't too expensive about 5000 yen total including tax and service charges. There was also the option of all you can drink for about 1500-2000 yen depending on the option. And a smoking and non smoking area. Overall a great place to eat and gave an authentic experience. Maybe try coming for lunch as the Japanese reviews say you can have unlimited Karaage for cheap and they do set meals.
Although the restaurant has the title of being an amateur izakaya, all of the dishes are made with special care, and the dishes that look good and taste good as well. There is a wide variety of alcoholic beverages, and you can feel that they are particular about the types of sake they make. They do a great job of cutting the food into pieces according to the number of people, and if things cannot be divided, they even help with the number of servings. The atmosphere throughout the shop is calm and relaxing. The prices are reasonable and it's close to the station, so I highly recommend this restaurant.
I discovered this at a restaurant in Kichijoji where you can eat fried chicken for lunch. For Saturday lunch, the fried chicken set meal costs 700 yen, and includes 6 pieces of fried chicken that can be eaten in two bites by an adult. It also comes with salad, miso soup, and rice for a surprisingly low price. However, it tasted just right with soy sauce and was crispy and delicious! It's a bit disappointing that the store is located on the 5th floor of a building that has the feel of a multi-tenant building, making it difficult to see what's going on inside. . When we entered the store just before 12:00, there was only one other person in the store besides us. However, by around 1pm, the seats were pretty full. I feel like this is a good store that everyone knows. There is a designated smoking area inside the store, so you are not allowed to smoke at home, so even if you are bringing children with you, you won't have to worry about the smell of cigarettes. I was also happy with the staff's concern, and there were many things to be grateful for. thank you very much! If I run out of fried chicken in Kichijoji, I will visit again! !
