Sano, Tochigi, Japan｜Hachiya

I forgot my wallet, so I searched for a store that accepts smartphone payments. It's a hard-to-understand location down a small path, and all the parking lots have local numbers and seem to be local shops. I ordered the wonton noodles and gyoza, and it was delicious with the typical Sano ramen topped with wontons with a smooth skin and no fillings. The bite-sized gyoza was traditionally made with mostly small vegetables, and the skin had just the right amount of char, making it very delicious, unlike the thick-skinned large gyoza that you often find at popular Sano ramen restaurants. It was a nice and delicious restaurant with a spacious interior and parking lot, and an atmosphere reminiscent of the Showa era.

These are the memories of celebrating in the parking lot as we watched the WBC win. Established 50 years ago. It's been about 35 years since my grandmother, who lived in Sano, used to take me there. Nostalgic 😂 It's 11:45 on a Wednesday with zero tourists. For 40% of the customers, authentic ramen arrived in 5 minutes. Ramen for me is this nostalgic soy sauce soup. Swimming is Tero Tero, Wamenachan, and handmade noodles. The flavorful boiled pork is also from the Showa era. It’s the best🤩

The char siu has a good balance of meat and fat, and it is very satisfying to eat it lightly. Gyoza is also recommended. Plenty of cabbage and Chinese chives go well with beer. The skin is quite thick, so there is a response to eating. It's very hot when it's ready, so be careful not to burn yourself. It's not a famous store, so if you want to eat Sano ramen easily, please stop by!
