Shinjuku City, Tokyo, Japan｜Ochazuke Bar Zuzu

I thought I was at the wrong floor as the lift lobby was dark. Turns out there was a small Tom and Jerry-like door I had to slide to enter the restaurant. The ochazuke was great and the staff were helpful. I got a small dessert as a treat for being a foreigner as well. Thanks so much!

Cute little ochazuke diner that has plenty of semi-private or private seating, although bookings are a must (through tabelog). We got a table seated on the floor which was fine, the service was quick and polite, and food was tasty with a wide selection of drinks. Only complaint was that the inside of the restaurant was quite warm, wish they could have turned the aircon up a tad. Overall a great experience!

Amazing food and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. As my Japanese is not great they were very patient! The environment is absolutely intriguing, once you get through the door you’ll feel like you’re in another dimension. Really enjoyed the experience, and the staff at the end even helped me wearing my shoes, picked up the stuff I dropped on the floor and gave me a very cute note!!! I will definitely be returning and 100% recommend for an alternative night out, or for just a relaxing dining experience.
