More Comments at Google MapPeople think that Korean offal or Deep Provincial Chinese cuisine is the most texturally outlandish in East Asian cuisine. But roots Japanese eating is ... well exactly that. Pulled from the earth, somewhat woody, and hella slimy in the process of its preservation (think okra, see natto and yamaimo). Narutoya showcases an array of farm to table, hand prepared and organic in a very traditional way. It was tough for me to choose first pic but I went with the fig karage in misoshiro. There's no modern twists here, just old world knowledge and recipe resurfaced to educate and wow a new generation of diners.
This place is such a gem in Kamakura! Lunch was very delicious. Good combination of different flavors! Also usually I’m not a fan of goma dofu (sesame tofu), but in this restaurant it tasted pretty good, and I could enjoy it probably for the first time ever. The only thing to be aware of - they use dashi in some dishes, so are not fully vegan
Delicious, charming, vegetarian 🖤 Fresh udon and gomadofu were the highlight
