Rating 4.5 Unlike the center of Kamakura, Kitakamakura has a pleasantly quiet and calm atmosphere. If you want to experience the real taste of Japanese food and sake in Kitakamakura, this restaurant is one of the best options you can think of. Right now, the restaurant mainly offers special udon dishes, Inaniwa-Udon(Akita Pref. origin) only during lunch time. It used to be open at night as well. However, due to the coronavirus disaster, they were forced to change service hours and the dishes on the menu. Now, the restaurant is open until evening(17:00) on Saturdays and Sundays, Recommended way to use the restaurant is to enjoy the owner's sake selection with sashimi, grilled dishes, and awesome fried foods (not only Tempura). You can also enjoy your meal while enjoying the greenery of Kitakamakura from inside the restaurant. If the weather permits, you can sit outside on the terrace and enjoy sake while listening to the chirping of birds. As the name of the restaurant "KOKORO-YA" suggests, this is a restaurant that will soak into your "heart," KOKORO in Japanese.
