Really cool speakeasy in the middle of Uotana fish market. It's standing room only, but they have a variety of sake to choose from and a cozy atmosphere. The door is nicely hidden away so you kinda have to look for it. Hint: the door looks like it was made for hobbits. It's a locals joint, so if you're going to go please be respectful.

Tanakaya is a highly rated standing bar. It was late afternoon on a Saturday, but I was able to enter the store in about 10 minutes. (They recorded my name and phone number and called me, so I was able to stroll around Uonotana Shopping Street.) Sardines in oil sardines, potato salad, and Akashi octopus braised. All of them were well-deserved with the high ratings. All the staff and regular customers were very kind.

The stewed octopus is delicious. The barrel seat is located between the customers at the counter when receiving food and drinks. It was a fun time and I enjoyed interacting with the customers at the counter. The garlic baguette was delicious and I also added the cheese baguette. Thank you for the meal.
