Hakone, Kanagawa, Japan｜Niku no Kinosuke

The reviews at this place don't lie! If you'd like a decent meal that's fusion, part Japanese and part Western, here's the place for you. Located at a quaint corner near Hakone-Yumoto and various other Ryokans as well as eateries, you'll definitely have a relaxed and enjoyable meal here. There are about 6 main dishes on the menu and various other side dishes. You have the option of topping up for a set meal for each of the main dishes. In the pictures are what were served as part of the set, which typically includes a salad, a side dish, and miso soup. We got the Japanese Hamburg and the Steak is simply AMAZING. Go for the steak and the Japanese Hamburg set if you can.

We visited here as a family of four and were quickly seated at the bar. All of us ordered steak plates, and we got a Caesar salad to share. The food was amazing, cooked perfectly. The sauces were well balanced. Salad was great. Service was friendly and prompt. It was a nice mix of Western and Japanese at a good price.

Amazing atmosphere, we got a private room, my husband, toddler and I. My toddler was a bit fussy and overtired so I was happy to have a nice, cool, dark, relaxing private room for her to chill in so she wouldn’t be overstimulated. I got the steak set and it was INCREDIBLE. best lunch I’ve had in a long time. The staff was polite and friendly and we had a very nice time. It was a bit expensive, but at least for the steak, the price was worth it. There is no kids menu so my husband and I shared our meals and an appetizer with our kid, and the staff served her iced tea along with us (as a free service) The Kinosuke salad as part of the set was also really good. It had various bits of seafood in it, and I’m usually not a big fan of shrimp, squid, octopus, etc but this salad was perfect. Everything was soft and there wasn’t a strong seafood taste because the dressing paired well with it. Highly recommend.
