More Comments at Google MapThis is a traditional Japanese soba shop with a simple menu featuring soba noodles in broth with scallions and wild duck. I saw other customers ordering tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelet) so that must be their specialty too. The restaurant has stunning views of the city, and the staff is attentive and courteous. It is a bit of a hike to get to the restaurant, but you can drive up the mountain and park right behind Orihime Shrine.
I found this soba restaurant while walking around Orihime Shrine on a sunny day. I ordered duck soup soba. The soba had a faint scent of yuzu, probably because it had yuzu peel mixed in, and it went well with the dipping sauce and was delicious. Also, perhaps by chance, there was a 5 yen (good luck) ball in the sobayu bowl! The soba noodles are a little smaller than at a normal restaurant, so the large serving was just right.
It is five stars with a shrine and a set! I ordered sudachi soba and daily cold soba. Before coming here, I was forced to walk, so I was dizzy in the intense heat. (more than 220 steps of stairs) The soba was Sarashina-style, elegant and delicious. The soup and soup stock are rich, and you can eat three servings without being salty. The amount is normal, but it's delicious anyway! If you don't go early, it's likely to be out of stock, so it's better to arrive around 12:00. If you like soba, this is the place to go.
