I realized that I could buy the kamameshi that I had always eaten at Ginza Six, so I often get takeout when I go to Ginza. The container is made of ceramic and is heavy, so lately I've been using a paper version of the container. The price is the same. The taste remains stable. There's a lot of rice in it, so 2 servings might be just right for 3 people.

This is a great store in Tokyo where you can buy Toge no Kamameshi, and I often visit it. I bought a Wappa bento instead of the usual kamameshi, and it was also delicious. I was also happy to be able to buy Rurouni Kenshin Kamameshi.

Oginoya's kamameshi, which is on par with Kiyoken's shumai bento, is the king of ekiben. I always buy it on the Shinkansen bound for Karuizawa and Nagano. When I was younger, I didn't really like it because of the lightness and lack of quantity, but as I've gotten older, the rice and side dishes have a deep, indescribably exquisite soy sauce flavor that makes them so delicious. I feel I never thought I would be able to get things in Ginza that I could only buy locally or on the Shinkansen. At the GINZA SIX store, reservations can be made for as little as one. When I want to eat, I will go to Ginza again.
