Lovely traditional Japanese sweets shop. The local sweet is Onsen Manju (¥95), a steamed cake filled with sweet bean paste. They also have other sweets, including the raisin-sand(wich), very good too. There are other shops in Shibu Onsen where you can buy sweets, but the others are mostly souvenir shops, so the sweets are not so fresh, I guess. At this shop, the Onsen Manju is fresh and served still warm.

On my way back from Yudanaka Onsen, I wanted to take a walk around the streets of Shibu Onsen, so I parked my car in a large parking lot by the river. The nostalgic townscape captures the hearts of schoolchildren. Suddenly I was drawn to the words ``Shiso Manju''. Atmosphere, appearance, good. When I entered the store, I saw an interaction with an elderly woman. Which is the shiso manju? I searched with my eyes but couldn't find it. In my ear, "Yes, change is 1 million yen, 2 million yen." That's right, this is good. My wife and I bought two ohagi, a box of hot spring manju as souvenirs, and one kumquat (four seasons fruit). The food made by this kind Japanese confectionery shop is sure to be delicious. Ohagi... It reminded me of the taste my grandmother used to make on the equinox when I was a child.

I found a delicious sweets shop while wandering around the hot spring town. Not only the hot spring steamed buns posted on the signboard, but also the famous margarine bread, are all delicious. I heard that the oyaki is also delicious, so I asked about it and was told that it is only available during the summer, so if I have a chance to come again in the summer, I would like to stop by and try the oyaki as well. Also, the store staff was very kind and polite, and I was able to talk to them about various things, and since the store is open from 8 a.m., I'm glad that I can go and buy souvenirs even in the morning if I want to take them home. A very nice shop.
