Toyohashi, Aichi, Japan｜Kondo Pan

A wonderful Obachan-run bakery, catering to students and locals alike. The building and its interior teleport you back to Showa-Japan. The freshly baked goods are cheap and delicious! Loved coming here, a gem of the neighbourhood. An-Lemon-Pan anyone?

・There were 5 parking spaces located 50m from the store. (See image) ・Closed on Sundays, Mondays, and public holidays ・Business hours are 8:00-19:30 When I visited at 9:00 on a Saturday, most everything except sandwiches was sold out. Of course, there was no fresh cream bread either. Apparently they are making them one by one, so if the timing is right, you can buy them. I would like to take revenge again!

The sandwiches made with moist and chewy bread are delicious. Bakeries that offer the nostalgic taste of the Showa era are truly valuable these days. Despite this, I thought it was amazing that they were taking on new challenges while preserving tradition, such as selling prototypes of new breads. It's easily recognizable as it's a prominent sign on the main street. There is a parking lot behind the store, so if you are always passing by and are curious about it, please stop by. The eat-in space also has a great atmosphere.
