Living for 18 months in Kyodo in 2020 and 2021, Hachi-Ichi was my go-to bakery, and it is one of the places I miss most now that I am back in the US. It is a very small bakery, and the selection is not extensive, but I always found their offerings on any particular day to be superb. My wife was a particular fan of their anpan. I always found the staff to be extremely friendly whenever I went, and I believe that my wife--who is Japanese--did as well when she went.

This is the most delicious bakery in Tokyo! I love it and have been going there for years. Each bread is made with great care, and even though it's heavy, the price is reasonable, and I always feel that the bread is made with the buyer's feelings in mind. Above all, the wheat has a very nice aroma, and I crack it open before I put it in my mouth every time I eat it, and inhale the aroma until I'm satisfied with it. It has a happy scent that makes me want to use it as a pillow. There seem to be a lot of reviews about customer service, but I enjoy shopping here every time. Even when I forgot my bag to take home, they took care of me many times, and on days when it suddenly started raining, they told me to use an umbrella. Your personality is great. It may seem that way to those who imagine a bakery as a smiling and cute customer service. The owner is busy making the bread while also serving customers, and is concentrating more on the bread than anything else. Why don't buyers focus on that wonderful bread instead of just looking at people? I think those who are expressing bitter opinions should reevaluate their communication skills. Don't forget to feel like you're buying the wonderful bread that took so much time and effort.
