Small bakery where you can take a tray and pick what you want. There's a seating area inside and outside of the bakery where you can sit and enjoy your meal. Freshly baked food will be marked as freshly baked, and they can warm up your food at the counter, which I recommend for the curry bread and cheese toast. I went for: - curry doughnut (basically カレーパン) - garlic bread - cheese toast with corn inside - honey curry bear (cute) - cream totoro (sweet) The curry doughnut was probably the best カレーパン I've had so far. The dough was certainly less oily than for example in a konbini, and the curry was more flavorful. The cheese toast had a cheesy crust on the outside and a creamy cheese and corn filling in the inside. This is perfect when you're itching for some cheesy goodness. The cream totoro (not sure what it's actually called) had a nice rich creme/pudding on the inside, very satisfying and not overly sweet. Service was nice and professional. The atmosphere inside was relaxed at 2pm. Overall if you're looking for a bakery where you can try out different things, this is a great choice.

Cute little bakery in Shinjuku! My husband and I tried an assortment of baked goods for breakfast. You simply grab a tray and use the tongs to add items and then checkout at the register. There is a small seating area inside or you can get it to-go. Everything was fantastic!

As this tiny shop’s name, ‘Chii Pan’ (literally, ‘small bread’) implies, this diminutive bakery specializes in smaller than usual bread-based offerings that are all freshly baked, or sometimes, like in the case of the shop’s curry bread, freshly fried. A 70 percent of the shop’s floor space is dedicated to presenting the day’s offerings for customers. The single set of manually triggered automatic sliding doors opens immediately to the shop floor, with a table of goods in the center, surrounded by shelves full of goods on the left and the right. To the left, just before the cash register counter, there’s an opening that leads to a nook where you can sit down and eat. There are very limited seating options available, but they do include a couple of outdoor tables in addition to the usual indoor dining area. They say they created this concept of "chii bread" because they want people to enjoy a wide variety of foods little by little.” They hope they’ve created a bakery that’s loved by everyone in this town while making delicious bread every day from the heart.
