Otsu, Shiga, Japan｜An deux

We were staying nearby at a ryokan and spotted this on our way! The pastries looked way too good to give a miss! Thank god we bought one. The strawberry one was amaaaaaaazing!!! Wish I didn't have to share (to Jen - just kidding!! 😆😆🤗🤗)!! We went by the following day and tried the matcha and bean one. Taste wise was almost as good but texture was more dense and less fluffy and crispy than the strawberry so we both agreed the first one was better! Must stop by if you're in the area. 😊 Even the savouries are good but I'm biased to the sweet options! Hahaha

I was staying walking distance away from this cafe in Otsu during my trip in Japan. Lady boss/staff is very friendly. There are a variety of breads and there is coffee or tea option too. For anyone looking to grab a quick bite for breakfast before getting up the train this is the place to go to!

One of the best hidden gems from our trip. If you stay in Otsu while visiting Kyoto you must have breakfast here.
