Kyoto, Japan｜Le Petit Mec - Imadegawa

Cozy French cafe in Kyoto with a wide variety of baked breads, sandwiches, pastries, and cakes to choose from. The cafe au lait was very authentic French as seen in my pictures. If you want a cozy European breakfast experience this is your place!

Amazing food! Everything was super tasty, balanced and quite unique too, I can’t say what was my favourite since everything was equally great! We sat in and they were very accomodating too for a bakery (plates, cut up the bread and served tea in a teapot so I could refill it if necessary). Deco is also super cute, lots of French and Japanese film posters. Definitely would love to come back if I have more time in Kyoto!

The pastries are hearty in a way atypical of a Japanese French bakery. The anchovy batard, the strawberry jam and Brie sandwich, the blood orange and (plum?) tart, and the tomato flaky tart were all excellent.
