"I'm impressed by Galette des Rois!" This is DONQ, a bakery located in the shopping mall "I City 21" operated by Inoue Department Store, a long-established department store in Matsumoto City. DONQ definitely makes and sells delicious bread. This time I bought Galette des Rois (meaning "King's sweets"). Galette des Rois is a traditional French pastry that celebrates the New Year. Crispy puff pastry on the outside and plenty of almond cream on the inside. Moreover, this cream has just the right amount of salt, not too sweet or too thick. I ate one piece, and it was so delicious that I ended up eating another. The other breads are delicious, but we really recommend the seasonal Galette des Rois. It's sold at the hall, so it's a bit pricey, but it's not something you eat every day, and it's worth it if you're going to have the luxury of once a year! Please try. Most of Matsumoto's breads are milk breads and sweets, but when it comes to hard foods, Donk's baguettes are precious (^_^)ﾉ
