Singapore｜Kaiyo Sushi and Grill

Not your average Japanese restaurant. They offer fresh cargo from Japan. Came in before noon and manage to get a table without reservation. Food is fresh & Tasty! Will be back to try out more dishes.

Randomly came to Kaiyo on a Sunday evening around 7pm and the restaurant was full, but we only waited about 5-10min for a table for 4 of us. We ordered the stingray fin, grilled chicken skin, karaage, salmon sashimi, salad, iberico pork seiro set, innawari udon and cha soba. Everything was delicious except for the udon which is just ok in terms of the soup taste but the texture of the udon is smooth and silky. The food quality generally is very good. I highly recommend the iberico pork - it’s very flavorful, smokey and tender. My kids loved it (actually they enjoyed everything and finished all the food!). Service was prompt and we didn’t have to wait long for food to be served. The bill came up to $110+. Really happy to find this fabulous Japanese restaurant nearby our place. Will definitely be back!

iberico pork was tender and well marinated, the way the meat was sliced makes it taste like beef (in a good way). chiraishi bowl came with a variety of fish, all were fresh and thick slices. sashimi platter was slightly underwhelming as compared to the price of the chiraishi bowl. for the price paid, the bowl offered great value for money. nonetheless, it was an enjoyable experience
