Affordable and delicious! Ordered the Salmon Mentai Don, Mentai Fries, and Spicy Mentai Soft Shell Crab. The salmon don was of a good portion and had a generous amount of mentaiko sauce. Unfortunately, their fries were soggy as compared to their punggol outlet which was very crispy and on par with macdonald's fries. Their Spicy Mentai Soft Shell Crab was really flavorful and had a good amount of meat. Generally, other soft shell crabs I've had did not have as much meat as theirs. Would definitely revisit someday!

Tried Unagi Tama Don and Tamago Mentai. It was delicious!! Big chunks of grilled eel and the eggs were just set and not over-cooked. Tamago Mentai was nice too! Sweet and savoury!

Not the first visit here, so here I am giving my feedback. I love Mentaiko and I am fussy with cooked salmon. In fact, I don't usually fancy because cooked salmon had a fishy odour. But I will gladly eat the one from Mentai-Ya! Double win because I loved it topped with Mentaiko, the doneness was just nice, succulent and juicy and the mentaiko sauce was generous! We had the following and sure it was fulfilling: Salmon Mentai Don Ebi Curry Don Tamago Mentai Japanese Gyoza Mentai-Ya specialises in their Mentaiko delights, and offers a variety of affordable mentaiko dons from just $7.80. I hope they can put soft shell Crab back to their menu.
