More Comments at Google MapAs always, had a great time at Din Tai Fung Singapore in Tampines Mall! The reason they have been in business for so many years, their standard is always there in terms of service and food. Ordered their pork chop fried rice, spicy hot and sour soup, and sliced duck in crispy spring onion pastry and xiao long bao. It was all super tasty, and that hot and sour soup is a nice meal starter. The sliced duck was quite nice and xiao long bao is still as tasty as ever.
Apparently you can do online queue now, instead of queuing at the outlet itself. Their chilli crab xlb, a National Day special, was life changing. Made with real crab meat, the savoury chilli crab gravy slides easily into your mouth after biting through the skin. It’s more watery than normal chilli crab but the taste was equally strong. Wish it’s on their permanent means because I will never get normal xlb after this. Other than that, their duck spring rolls, pork chop fried rice and crispy prawn pancake are must orders. Tried their tan tan noodles this time but didn’t quite like it. It’s not spicy like we expected and had a peanut base. However as a peanut butter lover, I couldn’t really taste the savoury-ness of the peanut so it’s a little weird to me. Would stick to their chilli oil noodles in future.
Ordered a little, not pictured was their sesame bao, which is very good. Roughly $46 for 2 pax. All these are highly recommended, cucumber is refreshing, acts as a palette cleanser. Din Tai Fung XLB is standard, 8/10 always, nothing much else to say. Spicy and sour soup is also a must, I would skip the noodles next time, not a lot of flavour but the texture of the noodles was good, pork chop tender as always. Food came quick, service is always good, not many people around 6:30pm so plenty of seats around.
