More Comments at Google MapAuthentic Teochew Cuisine. Sat Dinner, luckily we have made a reservation as the place is almost full . Being first timers we ordered a fair bit from the recommended list. Food is served very fast and they asked if we want to slow down the pace... and then last 3 dishes did not come till they activate again😅 I would say the food is within our expectations of a good teochew cuisine and portions are good. Only exception is the teochew kway teow, L portion but hardly enough for 8 of us.
Came here after I watched on YouTube a video series called Art Beyond Museum by Lotus On Water, a top notch fengshui gallery in the world. Must try the steam fish and the yam dessert. Their cai pok kwey tiao and fish maw soup were great too!
We wanted to book the Bedok main branch but it was full, so we quickly called in to reserve the Canberra branch. What a nice mall, Canberra plaza, smacked right between yishun and sembawang and right beside the Canberra MRT. Canberra residents are truly blessed! Hahahha. During my army days in kahtib this was a empty place. We usually zip to A&Z prata, chongpang nasi, or sembawang SC for Thai food or white bee hoon. Anyways , we heard good reviews on this teochew restaurant, and we love our Toa Payoh based Swatow, so let's give it a try. We ordered the or lua, which is excellent. Very crispy and the oysters are large! The prawn omelette is good. The Shanghai green was for me average , normal tze char fare. The salted fish fried rice was quite good. The best was the crispy HK noodles! We ordere the king version, if I can remember. The fish Chucky cubes were really fresh and succulent. Not those dry and flaky types. It's really soft and juicy! Damn good! We were told by the manager the fish was sashimi standard! I forgot what breed it was. We finished the dish in one go ,hahah. This dish is a must order together with the or lua. I finished off with my favourite dessert, Xing ren toufu with longan. Prices are a bit on the premium side, but it quite worth it.
