Singapore｜Chirashizushi Shou

One of the good quality Japan food I had. Sashimi is thick cut, fresh and juicy! Ramen is cooked to perfection with flavourful soup broth. Lastly, the onsen egg, 1 is never enough.

We had a bara chirashi don and salmon aburi don. Had some difficulty with finding the salmon don as it was not listed under donburi's in the web-based menu but service crew was helpful. Food is decently portioned for the price. First bite of the chirashi was abit too salty, but mixing it up properly allowed for a much better mouthful. Had ikura on nearly everybite of the bowl. All the fish are quite fresh thou some of the yellowtail was cut less than ideal, but its a bara chirasi. The salmon don was v satisfying for my partner and had the nice hints of abrui with soft and silky salmon. Nice hearty bowl. Comes served with a side of wafu salad and nice miso soup to finish the meal. Also enjoyed the retro-esq playlist of mixed japanese and occasional western bands in the mix. Will return!

Went for lunch on a Saturday, and the queue wasn’t too bad (about 15 mins). Had a party of 6 and though the shop was small and cozy, the service staff was able to rearrange empty tables at that point to put together a 6-seater. Food came quite quickly upon ordering (10-15 mins) and I would definitely recommend getting the donburi with bigger slices of sashimi (pictured: zeitaiku kaisendon) as opposed to the small diced version (shallower bowl and not as shiok imo) because they do their thick slices VERY WELL. Fresh and supple fish meat - loved every single slice, esp the swordfish yellowtail and salmon belly 🤤 I think of it and wished that there’s a Serangoon outlet 🥹🙏 The meal also comes with salad and soup which I thought was pretty nice 😊👌 ⚠️ caution though: a friend ordered the stacked chirashi bowl and REAL LIFE delivered sashimi bowl DID NOT LOOK ANYTHING LIKE as advertised… 📕🤑Attached the menu selection and prices as of 15 July 2023 Would I come again: Travelling almost 1-1.5h by public transport… is truly a pain so I would say ild go once in a blue moon… but if given the option if it was nearby, I think I’ll happily make it my hangout spot with friends if it was more accessible.
