Singapore｜Man Man Japanese Unagi Restaurant

Small little restaurant tucked away from the busy road, where you have to access is from a inner yard. We arrived about 1 hour before they close, so we didn't have to wait. Good for late night dinner. The food was great and delicious. The staff were also very friendly and kind. Having to grate fresh wasabi was a nice experience.

Overall experience was not bad. Went in for a quick lunch with wife. Not much queue probably due to the light drizzle. Separate sauce for u to add if you like it on a sweeter note. Go for the bigger portion if you are a big eater. The place is tucked away at a corner.

We've been visiting this restaurant for the hitsumabushi for over a year now and it never disappoints. The grilled unagi is fresh and flavourful, the broth to go with it bursts with umami but is not too salty, and the wasabi is interestingly served such that one has a fun time scraping it fresh from the root. Their current snow crab special is recommended too - you can taste the scent of the sea in it. We did not think much of the tamago side dishes though. We were expecting a tad more sweetness. Come on the dot at 6pm to avoid waiting in queue. It's on the expensive side, but a worthwhile treat for the occasional pampering of the stomach.
