Such a cute place! Love the old-timey-ness of the facade and decor. The history of Colbar (blend of “colonial bar”) was written on the boards at the seating area but the lovely uncle who was at the till told us all about the history. Added to the charm of the place - he was so patient with our questions. We tried the fried rice special, the curry chicken rice (recommended by the cute uncle) and I had a ham omelette with mushroom (on the side - though I meant it as an omelette with both ham and mushroom fried in it). My omelette didn’t come with chips on the side for some reason but we didn’t mind it. The flavours were very nostalgic - feels almost like the kind of fare you’ll get in an old school canteen. Bit on the pricey side but you pay for the experience I guess! The curry was nice and thick, and the mushrooms that came with my omelette were covered in a delicious brown sauce. Iced black teas were also nice and fragrant (we got ours without sugar or milk). The seating area is really well ventilated and windy and we felt cool even though it was a sweltering hot day.

Old school military cantina, very popular on weekends. Food is simple but nostalgic and cooked with care. Lots of dogs around. Service is friendly but dishes are served individually, not all together for the whole table.

One of the rare nostalgic eatery left in Singapore. It has been around as long as i remember. The place still remain how it looks like more than 2 decades ago. Food is taste of home. Craft beers options are avail and is very popular spot with Expats. I think the large green space is also a plus whereby the kids roam freely.
