Singapore｜The Ship Restaurant @ Shaw Centre

18 Aug 2023 - was there at 11am when they opened & was politely told that as I had not made a reservation, they could seat us but could we leave before 12.30pm. Happy to oblige, we promptly made our order from the set lunch menu for Friday - the ever-popular sliced fish noodles for the husband and oxtail stew for me. Service was fast and my set meal came with seafood chowder - very tasty and heartwarming as it was a rainy day and I was a tad chilled. Main course was beautiful - the oxtail was stewed till gelatinous and deliciously soft, meat falling off the bone tender. Accompanied by boiled carrots and broccoli, and 2 scoops of mashed potato … too much for me so my husband happily ate the other scoop. The fish soup he had was tasty, and came with 5 deep fried, crispy fish (stole a piece from him). Apparently you can order your sliced fish boiled in soup for the non-fried version, you just have to mention because the fried fish is the default version. We both opted for the double chocolate ice cream (chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips) instead of the chocolate pudding. Service was very smooth and prompt, and we were done with our meal in 50 minutes flat. Love the food and service at The Ship!

Great recommendation from my friend! Tasty and flavourful fish soup. Fried fish is so crispy outside and very soft inside. Comes with dessert of the day and choice of coffee or tea. Thumbs up 👍

The fish soup noodle with milky soup base is delicious and can be better than Malaysia's version. Many enjoy the fried fish slices which are served in a separate dish/plate so they don't get soggy soaked in the noodle soup bowl. The set comes with a choice of cold/warm glass of water, dessert (we chose ice cream), and drink (ice lemon tea, coffee, and the likes). The waiting staff are cute and friendly. Service is fast and fuss-free. Recommended place for lunch and catch up with friends over good food. Will definitely visit here again.
