My criteria for a good dim sum place are - prawn dumpling and Siew Mai. If a restaurant can’t get fundamental right, then nothing else would take good. The dim sum lunch here is good taste. Sits very high rating in my dim sum list. The sizes and portion for dim sum is larger than most…justifies the price point too. What I really like in a prawn dumpling is bamboo shoots, an ingredient that is missing in all prawn dumplings I’ve had in Singapore. The skin is thin, translucent which is how it should be (not pale and crumbly). Siew Mai is just as good - the steamed version. It has delicate flavour that is not too heavy in sweetness or salt. The XO Cheong Fun is a winner too. BBQ bun was good…not sickly sweet. What didn’t work for me is the lotus leaf black glutinous rice. A tad soggy. Overall…a winner for me.

Chinese restaurant on level 5 of Ngee Ann City Mall. This restaurant is famous for its Peking duck. The price for a whole Peking duck was close to S$100, thankfully it was treated from my friend. Wide variety of dim sum and Chinese dishes as well. Service was good. Staff was attentive, tea was filled up promptly. On weekend, it is normally very crowded. Best to go during weekdays and before the lunch crowd. Strongly recommended for the Peking duck and the dim sum dishes.
