The food tastes very good, especially the crispy chicken. The skin is crispy and the meat is tender. The chicken breast is not burnt. Paired with the spicy red oil sauce of Sichuan chicken, you can taste two different flavors in one bite. Crispy duck is also eaten in the same way as Beijing roast duck. It is dipped in sweet sauce and wrapped in duck pancakes with shredded green onions and cucumbers. The hand-shredded cabbage tastes very authentic, but the cooking method is too homely, and you may accidentally eat peppercorns. The skin of Xiao Long Bao is a little thicker than that of Din Tai Fung. I personally think that the seasoning of the meat filling suits me better than that of Din Tai Fung.

Super nice and comforting HK brunch. The mini Bo Lou bao is the bomb. Small bun with a piece of butter, different from the big one which need a few bite, the new small one is just nice and able to share. All the dimsum was also not so salty and were all great!

Our first visit to this Crystal Jade outlet in many years, and we were so pleasantly surprised by how much the food has improved over the years, at the same reasonable price. The mala crispy chicken was AMAZING - tender meat, crispy thin skin, with most of the mala sauce placed at the side (i thought this was very thoughtful, so customers can decide how mala they want the chicken to be). The mala is more spicy than numbing which is what we prefer. The dan dan mian was served in a big bowl of slightly spicy peanut sauce, which they nailed it perfectly. The sauce coats the noodles generously, yet, it’s light enough to drink it on its own. Being huge fans of impossible meat, we tried their seasonal impossible bak kut teh xlbs, and we have to say it’s the best we have tasted from Crystal Jade. Couldn’t tell at all that these are not pork 🙌 Apart from the delicious meal, the staff also made us feel welcomed even though we were one of the last customers. Overall a really good experience here this time.
