Singapore｜Lao Dong Bei Restaurant 老东北 (老東北)

The best mapo tofu I had in Singapore for the 10 days I was there, and I ordered mapo tofu at least 8 of those days. Hole in the wall vibes with delicious authentic Chinese food. The “three earths” dish was also fantastic. It was a combination of eggplant, potatoes, and peppers cooked nicely in a sweet and very slightly spicy sauce. Sadly they weren’t making xiao long bao when I was there. Highly recommend!

Good food portion for the price paid, taste is good. The lamb bbq skewers cost $1, but it doesnt taste like lamb at all. The dumplings are pretty nice Best of all, price of their beer is reasonable, $4 for Tsingdao and $3.80 for Xuehua.

Very nice food! Our favourite is their pancake! Other dishes like Guo Bao Rou (Sweet Sour Pork Chop), La Zi Ji (Chili Chicken Cubes), Lightly Sauted Bok Choy, Guo Tie (Pan-fried dumplings) are all very delicious. Cannot wait to try more of their menu. Very affordable.
