It is worthwhile to share the factual and subjective review of this place by a non-local tourist as I am. Food: I tried their crab in black pepper sauce based on their recommendation. It was not priced in the menu and you will have to ask. 38$ for the freshly living crab which they show you. Smell: Delicious, black bean, pepper with a sweet fragrance. Taste: Somewhat sweet and spicy due to the black pepper [obviously]. Nicely balanced with the crab meat. After taste is dominated by the black pepper sauce. Also ordered stir fried vegetable. Ordered a small portion to enjoy with crab however it was a generous amount. Nicely sauteed vegetable with a bit of garlic, soy sauce and possibly a bit pepper. Well balanced. Service: I paid a visit on a quiet Sunday and there was only one other customer. Got immediate attention to be seated and able to order quickly. Very service minded staff. It appears that English is understood but I had to repeat few times to avoid any potential misunderstanding. Atmosphere: Very simple resturant with 6 round tables and 4 chairs each. It is air conditioned inside which is very pleasant in hot days or rainy days. No seating outdoor (i.e. no Al Fresco dining) as there is a bus stop just outside of the doors. Saw some people ordering take away to enjoy their meals elsewhere. I would definitely return here to enjoy few other meals in a near future.

Wonderful place in Geylang where we have JB style cooking. Seating is plentiful, and ambiance pleasant. The San Low Bee Hoon, Hua Dan Hor Fun, Prawn Paste Chicken, Egg omelette, Pork Belly and the drinks are really delicious and value for money. Recommend to come to this place if you do not wish to brave the jams across the causeway but want JB Style food.

Did an immediate dinner reset after just having a bad plate of 三楼米粉 at Jx Ax Mxxx a few doors away. JB Garden's version is so much better, more flavourful, more wok hei with an excellent crispy char. They took time to char the beehoon nicely. And it's cheaper as well. The sambal stingray is deliciously lathered in a sweet, spicy, piquant sambal that will go down well with white rice.
