Been eating here since before the pandemic. Recommend it’s Beef Bowl (but remember to order spice Italian rice because with plain rice it taste so much poorer) and the garlic winglet. The latter especially is so full of garlic flavour, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Heap the garlic into the beef bowl and you get an extra dimension of flavour. Beef bowl has flank steak grilled to medium well and sliced into strips. The onsen egg should be mixed well with rice (and the garlic) before eating. Pickles gives it a piquant tang which is nice. Getting to be expensive compared with my first visit. And that’s inflation for you.

Friendly staff that helped me arrange a reservation on a Saturday night, had ordered the Chicken burger which I really enjoyed! Very huge portion, a whole chicken chop was between the fluffy buttered buns. Fries were also fragrant, really had the taste of potato, not like oil taste. Prawn paste wings was also not bad, well fried! They serve Guinness Draught as well, which is great considering it’s a neighbourhood cafe. Staff were helpful in helping me pack my left over fries and wings nicely! Excluding alcoholic beverages, I would say one can expect to spend around $20/pax here!

So happy that Bok’s weathered the pandemic and is still serving good food. Ordered their Char Siu Rice Bowl and the Red Wine Beef Stew Bread, and Sweet Potato Fries. Their Char Siu Rice Bowl is very good, Char Siu was tender and not too fatty with the top slightly torched to give it the charred taste. The pairing of the meat with the pickled vege was very nice. The rice was also very tasty, not the usual white rice. The sweet potato fries was chunky and filled with the mash sweet potato, the real stuff. Do support if you can. Will be back to try their beef rice bowl which I saw many ordering as well.
