Singapore｜Toby's Kopi Toast Bakery

We recently lunched at Toby’s Kopi Toast Bakery and had an amazing experience. Due our excitement to devour the delicious food, we forgot to capture photos of our mains, which speaks volumes about how irresistible they were. We ordered their Century Egg Porridge, Braised Pork Rice (卤肉饭), Baby Ribs, and Chicken Cutlet Curry Rice – all of which were flavorful and served in generous portions. However, the real showstoppers were the cakes. The Snow White, a strawberry shortcake bursting with fresh strawberries, was delightful. The Mango Cake, our cake of the day, was incredibly tasty, and the Chocolate Nutella cake with its delightful surprise of chocolate balls was simply awesome.

Grilled Chicken Steak A Sizzle of Perfection! This was my family’s top pick with the tender, juicy chicken packed with flavour accompanied by a generous side of fries and coleslaw. The luscious and rich sauce was incredibly savoury, providing the ideal accompaniment to the grilled chicken albeit a bit too salty. The crispy skin added that delightful crunch to each mouthful, while the meat beneath was grilled to perfection. Adding to the pleasure was the coleslaw, a cool and refreshing contrast to the warm, succulent chicken. It balanced the richness of the dish with its crisp freshness and light dressing that was not too creamy. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned too! BBQ Baby Back Ribs Smoky, sweet, sticky and savoury - a symphony of flavours! This was a real treat with the incredibly tender and flavourful ribs. You can expect the meat to fall off the bone effortlessly, a true mark of well-cooked baby back ribs. While the ribs may be small in size, they are big on flavour with a rich Chef’s special BBQ sauce that clings to every morsel. Chicken Cutlet Curry Rice A crunchy, flavourful delight with a homely touch! The chicken cutlet is crispy on the outside with tender meat within. Instead of the usual flour or breadcrumb coating, TOBY's takes things up a notch by using soda crackers in the batter. The result is a cutlet that is an exceptional crunch that sets it apart from the rest. I was WOWED by the generous portion with a huge plate. The Hainanese-style curry sauce offers a delightful balance of sweet and savoury with a very mild spice level and it is absolutely delicious when paired with the crunchy and sweet cabbage. Slathered over plain rice, it is a messy yet hearty indulgence that will hit the spot. The food at TOBY's delivers on all fronts – flavour, texture, portion and value. It's the perfect place for a meal that leaves you and your wallet satisfied! P.S. The curry rice is only $6.90 nett with other options such as Curry Chicken, Fried Prawns, Pork Cutlet and Pork Belly. You can also top up $1 for a drink. I got Barley, Fruit Punch and Mango.

Nice cafe/eatery environment with excellent service. Food is average to good at a very affordable price. $10.80 for BBQ ribs is something not found elsewhere. The cakes were also good and recommended to get the $4 cake deal with every meal purchase. [Update Oct 23] Second visit 4 months later. The food was still good. Recommended place for lunch.
